Administration

Henrietta Williams, Principal

With over 30 years of dedicated experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving students across multiple districts, including Allendale County Schools, Williston School District 29, and Barnwell School District 45. My teaching background spans 4th through 8th grades, with a focus on English Language Arts. I have also worked extensively with both special education and gifted and talented students, tailoring instruction to meet a wide range of academic needs.  I have been an assistant principal and am currently serving Guinyard-Butler Middle School as principal.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina – Aiken and an Educational Specialist degree from Cambridge College. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about fostering a love for learning and creating meaningful, engaging classroom experiences.

Outside of the classroom, I am a proud mother and together, we enjoy traveling, singing, dancing, and sharing meals. The beach is my favorite retreat—my happy place where I recharge and reflect.

William Hammonds, III, Assistant Principal

I am a dedicated educator, coach, and assistant principal currently serving at Guinyard-Butler Middle School. With 23 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of working with and supporting the students and families of this county. My career began in Barnwell School District 19, where I spent 15 years before transitioning to my current district 8 years ago.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina Aiken and later pursued a master’s degree in education through Grand Canyon University’s online program. I am deeply committed to the field of education because it offers a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of all children and help them reach their full potential.

Outside of my professional responsibilities, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. My hobbies include playing sports, hunting, fishing, and motorcycle riding.

Mrs. Amanda Smith, Assistant Principal

With 26 years of experience in education, I bring a deep passion for teaching and leadership to our school community. As both an assistant principal and an ELA teacher, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive, engaging learning environment where students can thrive.

Outside of school, I cherish time with my family—as a proud wife and mom of three—and never pass up a good nap. My commitment to students, staff, and families is matched only by my love for helping others grow both academically and personally.

I have lived in Barnwell for 26 years and consider it a privilege to be employed by Barnwell Consolidated School District.  Through the years, I have developed many relationships with families and their children and hope to continue to impact many others in the future.  I have an open door policy and invite parents and students to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
